May Nurse of the Month – Zinhle

Jun 01, 2021

At WESolutions, we do not believe that our responsibility comes to an end when we help a great nurse secure a new role. Since our foundation, we’ve been committed to understanding the hopes, dreams and aspirations of the people we work with so that they can build the career (and life) that they want.

Introducing Nurse of the Month, a new initiative which will highlight the journey, achievements, and experiences of some of the hugely dedicated nurses we have had the pleasure of assisting to identify their dream jobs. Without further ado, we would like to introduce May’s Nurse of the Month, Zinhle.

Specialisation: Elderly Care

Zinhle’s StoryMay Nurse of the Month - Zinhle Mpofu

Zinhle first reached us in Dec 2018 and arrived recently to start work at one of our NHS trusts. This has been a dream come true for her and she is very happy to be in the UK and in her post in the NHS.

Zinhle has overcome a lot of difficulties to make it here, but she remained positive, determined, and never gave up! Since being here, she has really gone out of her way to help support new starters arriving in the country and we are grateful to her for always being available to help, always being co-operative and always being determined and enthusiastic.

May you continue soaring, Zinhle!

Q: When did you realise that a career in nursing was right for you? Was there a particular moment in your life?
A: I always wanted to be a nurse since a little girl. My father was an environmental health officer and we stayed in a hospital accommodation. I used to admire nurses and as I grew up, I ended up studying towards medical reception. Working in that environment brought back my long-desired career and I ended up enrolling in nurse training.

Q: What was your journey like in securing a role through WE Solutions?
A: Securing a role with we solutions was the easiest and non-stressful process because they offered me all the support and guidance that I needed.

Q: What advice would you give to young people considering a career in nursing?
A: My advice for anyone who wants to be a nurse is to follow their dreams and heart. Nursing is a very special career that is life changing and needs dedication.

Q: Do you have any standout memories/funny/interesting stories from your career as a nurse?
A: Every moment when a patient gets better, and recovers is a special moment for me. It makes my day.

Q: If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
A: Well, it is more of a wish that I have, that everyone who enters the hospital recovers because it is a terrible experience to watch someone deteriorate and die under your care.
