June Nurse of the Month – Margaret

Jul 01, 2021

At WESolutions, we strive to build long lasting relationships with all the talented nurses we have worked with even after helping them secure a new role. Since our establishment, we have been committed to understand the ambitions, dreams and choices of these people and we are proud to be a part of their careers (and life).

Our Nurse of the Month initiative is designed to highlight the journey, achievements, and experiences of some of the most dedicated nurses we have had the pleasure of assisting to identify their dream jobs. Without further ado, we would like to introduce June’s Nurse of the Month, Margaret.

Margaret’s StoryJune Nurse of the Month – Margaret Kimathi

Margaret has always stood out as a dedicated and extremely professional nurse. Since arriving in the UK three years ago, she has been moved up from registered nurse to Unit Manager, and now to a Deputy Managerial Position.

We are incredibly proud of her as she has accomplished a lot despite being new to the country.

The sky is the limit for you, Margaret!

Q: When did you realise that a career in nursing was right for you? Was there a particular moment in your life?
A: I realized this at an early age. My late sister was a nurse, and I was fascinated with her grace and passion towards nursing as a young child. She was very compassionate towards patients, and from that time I was firm that I wanted to become a nurse too.

Q: What was your journey like in securing a role through WE Solutions?
A: I am glad I made the right choice to get connected with WESolutions. They did not only support me through my CBTs and NMCs, but also made sure I settled in well in the UK. Although it has been 3 years since WESolutions had helped to place me, they keep checking in on me, making sure I do not miss my Pin expiry dates and renewal fee payments. They also assisted to bring my family to the UK.
I have had the most satisfactory experience choosing them. For me they have been more than just a recruitment agency, they are like my family. 😉

Q: What advice would you give to young people considering a career in nursing?
A: This is one of the best opportunities to work for a profession that is not just recognized, but also extremely rewarding. It is a marketable job that is recognized globally, and a career that helps you to grow, professionally.
Workwise, it will bring you so much joy and happiness when you get the opportunity to bring calmness into the lives of suffering patients.

Q: Do you have any standout memories/funny/interesting stories from your career as a nurse?
A: We once had a resident that needed to be admitted to our facility, but this was proving to be difficult tasks due to her past experiences and mental health condition. We persisted on and were able to admit her in, successfully. With a lot of love and care, we were able to help improve her condition significantly. She is now happily settled and is very much loved by the team and the rest of the residents.

Q: If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
A: To take COVID away from this universe! There has been a lot of destruction and loss of life. It is also hard to see people losing their jobs and struggling through lives like that. Hence if given a superpower, I would gladly take away COVID from this planet.
