Our Nurse of the Month initiative is designed to highlight the journey, achievements, and experiences of some of the most hard-working nurses we have had the pleasure of assisting to identify their dream jobs. Without further ado, we would like to introduce July’s Nurse of the Month, Paul.
Paul’s Story
From the beginning Paul has set himself apart as someone who meant business in his career as a nurse. He has been working in the NHS and after a fairly short time, he was promoted to a Band 6 role.
We are incredibly proud of his achievements and are happy to see him excel and make a difference in the lives of his patients.

Get to know Paul
Q: When did you realise that a career in nursing was right for you? Was there a particular moment in your life?
A: I realised this at a very early age. My mother was a nurse and she died due to childbirth complications. I was curious to know the cause of her death and from that day onwards I wanted to become a nurse. Gradually with time, I understood that this profession is recognised globally and can give me the opportunity to relocate to another country. Hence, choosing nursing as my career was a very firm decision for me from the beginning.
Q: What was your journey like in securing a role through WESolutions?
A: My friend from Kenya connected me to WESolutions and in no time, I was added to a CBT preparation group. WESolutions soon connected me to my current employer for an interview and I was ready to start within 3 months from then. It has indeed been a very smooth and fast transition.
WESolutions always stayed connected with me, even after I arrived in the UK. They made sure I settled well and assisted me during my OSCE preparation. With such immense support, I was able to grow in my career here in the UK and recently get promoted to a Band 6 Role within such a short span of time.
Q: What advice would you give to young people considering a career in nursing?
A: Nursing is a profession of humanity, which is beyond any community or monetary gains. This profession helps you to serve at a global level. Hence for those considering nursing as their career, just go for it!
Q: Do you have any standout memories/funny/interesting stories from your career as a nurse?
A: We often come across many interesting stories during our shifts. One of the funniest incidents that ever happened to me was when a patient was denying discharge from the hospital due to the bond we developed while supervising and curing her. She almost broke down into tears on the news of her discharge and did not intend to leave due to the amazing time we had together during her treatment.
Q: If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
A: Telepathy! I always wanted to develop the power to read people’s mind.
