April Nurse of the Month – Temi

Apr 27, 2022

At WESolutions, we believe that our responsibilities do not end once we have helped an amazing nurse secure a new role. Our goal is to build long lasting relationships that goes above and beyond that. We’ve been committed to understanding the hopes, dreams and aspirations of the people we work with so that they can build the career (and life) that they want.

Our Nurse of the Month initiative is designed to highlight the journey, achievements, and experiences of some of the most talented nurses we have had the pleasure of assisting to identify their dream jobs. Without further ado, we would like to introduce April’s Nurse of the Month, Temi.

Temi’s Story

Temi is a registered nurse currently based in Scotland. Nursing has always been a passion of Temi’s since she way young. It’s passion like hers that continues to fuel the work we do at WESolutions, of connecting amazing professionals like Temi with top institutions around the country. Here she is in her own words…

Q: When did you realise that a career in nursing was right for you? Was there a particular moment in your life?

A: It was when my grandmother was sick and I had to visit her in the hospital. I always wished I knew how to help her, and what was going on so that I could help take care of her. I saw the nurses and the doctors offering care and support, and I instantly knew that I wanted to be a part of such a team one day.

Q: What was your journey like in securing a role through WESolutions?

A: To be honest, I never expected the process to go as quickly as it did. I was given advice on places to start when migrating, to meet my goals. Following some assistance with creating my resume, I got my first interview within a week of speaking to WESolutions. I was well prepared for the interview and was offered the job a few days afterwards with the sweetest relocation package ever. I got help to set up my NMC online, assistance with preparing for my CBT and my visa application from the fantastic team at WESolutions.

Q: What advice would you give to young people considering a career in nursing?

A: Nursing might not be all that you envision it to be, but never let that diminish your passion. To all who are currently studying hard for their degree; better days are ahead. If you’re working hard and “ends nah meet”; just remember there are better and brighter days ahead. Opportunities are there and WESolutions is a provider of such opportunities.

Q: Do you have any standout memories/funny/interesting stories from your career as a nurse?

A: The memory that stands out the most during my career was how accomplished I felt once I received my registration certificate and pin in Jamaica. And of course, when I got my first job. A funny memory is one I have of my final year in nursing school when I was assigned to the emergency department. My batch mates and I decided to do Beta-HCGs and I found out I was pregnant. So, I graduated that November with a new-born baby!

Q: If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?

A: My superpower would be to believe and have utmost confidence in myself , so that others, especially my family, can believe in me to instil positivity among others.
